FUNDRAISING
If you don’t have the time to volunteer, you can still support our work in the Highlands by fundraising! If you are organising or taking part in a charity fundraising event, please consider Morning Call as a local charity which could really welcome additional funds to help us carry out our vital work. Please get in touch with us to let us know about your fundraising event.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team so that we can offer support to a much greater number of older people in need.
At present we have a number of people on our list waiting to receive a volunteer visitor so we urgently need new volunteers to come forward to help us provide this support. Your help can mean the difference between an older person getting the confidence to cope with their day or facing another long and lonely day.
When you contact us about volunteering, we will have a chat with you and discuss which of the services you wish to volunteer for. As well as having a friendly disposition, volunteers need to be good listeners and also have initiative to know what to do if something goes wrong and be alert enough to detect if there is a problem.
If you wish to volunteer for the Visiting Service and/or the Library Service, we will require to carry out checks to ensure that you are approved to visit older people in their homes. However this process is straightforward and we aim to ensure that we deal with your application to volunteer as quickly as possible. After an induction discussion, we can then match you up with an older person needing your support. You really can make a big difference to someone’s life!
Please note that volunteers are only expected to work one week in four.
